Nalco East Zone title goes to Dalbir

Dalbir Singh lived up to his reputation as the best golfer of Orissa by emerging champion in the 6th Nalco East Zone Golf Tournament at Bhubaneswar Golf Club (BGC) Course at Infocity campus today. As many as 68 golfers from Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Ghatsila, Ramgarh Cantonment, Sambalpr, Paradip and Bhubaneswar participated in the 14-hole stroke play handicap game. Nalco CMD, CR Pradhan, Director Finance, B L Bagra, former State Chief Secretary D P Bagchi and BGC president Tara Patnaik gave awaya the trophies to the achievers of the tournament. The team competition is scheduled for Monday when 10 clubs will be vying for the Champion Club trophy. Results: Champion: Dalbir Singh (Bhubaneswar, nett score 50). Runner-up (0-18 handicap): Vishal Sawa (Jamshedpur, nett score 52). Best golfer: Pawan Marwa (Jamshedpur, gross score 57). Best outstation golfer: Kaushik Chatterje (Kolkata, nett score 61). Winner (19-24 handicap): Rajan Das (Bhubaneswar, nett score 49). Runner-up: Srikanta Pradhan (Talcher, nett score 52).
